This Week in NJ

Vegan in NJ has started a Patreon page and we would love it if you could donate any amount you could. We will be working on setting up tiers as time goes on, but for right now, you will just get access to our feed, where we will be working through ideas and events we plan to host in the future. This will be a great place for you to have your voice heard about how we can make NJ the most vegan friendly place it can be!

If you are hosting an event or know of an event happening that you do not see on our events page, please send an email to cherise@veganinnj.com and I'll add it to the page ASAP and include it in my weekly breakdown.

Vegan in NJ is raising money through Crowdrise for Skylands Animal Sanctuary. Thank you to everyone who donated at last Sunday's New Jersey VegFest vegan pop up, where we were accepting donations in person and signing people up for the 5k at the Atlantic City Vegan Food Festival in July - the reason for the fundraiser! We also have some new team members that can be found on our Crowdrise. If you are interested in signing up for the 5k and donating/joining our team to fundraise, please send me an email for your discount code for the race and proof of donation/team sign up! Proceeds from our apparel, which are available with our official design (thanks Lisette!) are available on Teespring!

We kick off the first week of March with Tuesday's Nutrition and Health Seminar brought to you by Rutgers Veg Society. Jonathan Vorchheimer will be giving a talk on plant based nutrition and healthy living for vegans and non-vegans alike. Vegan pizza will also be served! There is no charge for admission and the seminar starts at 8:00pm and will be located in Room 411B of the College Ave Student Center.

If you happen to be heading into the city Tuesday, carve out some time to see the world premiere of A Prayer for Compassion. Showing will take place at the SVA Theatre, 333 West 23rd Street. Screening will include Vegan Fare (for VIP ticket holders) and a post-movie Q & A session featuring the film's director, Thomas Jackson and select cast members.Tickets are no longer available online, but you can text events manager, Carly Hirsch at 917-750-4897 for availability. (View the trailer here!)

On Sunday, the 10th from 12p-4p, Mundo Vegan will be hosting their Spring Bazaar. Admission is free and there will be several vendors on hand.

If you're looking to stay a little closer to the Shore, NJVeg will be hosting a Lunch Meetup at Vegan Tree in Matawan from 1p-4p. You can view their delicious menu here.

Finally, the Jersey Shore chapter of Food Not Bombs will be feeding those in need at the Asbury Park Train Station between 3:00 and 4:00. If you want to donate something, contact them via their Facebook page or by emailing them at jerseyshorefoodnotbombs@yahoo.com. The Jersey City chapter meets at the Journal Square plaza at noon every Sunday. For donations, contact them via their Facebook page or at foodnotbombsjc@gmail.com.
